Provide input online for local food engagement

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is gathering input on ways the government can encourage growth in the local food industry through roundtable discussions and online submissions until January 19, 2018.  

The focus of the discussions will be on the potential development of legislation (Local Food Act) to support and highlight the importance of local food. This will include conversations about a definition of local food, standards for organic products, food safety training requirements for approved farmers’ markets, and the potential creation of a Local Food Week.
