Provide your input on new land use planning for pipelines standard by March 12

The CSA Group has released a proposed new standard on land use planning in the vicinity of pipeline systems for stakeholder review until March 12, 2018. The new Z663-18 standard will provide minimum requirements, guidance and best practices for land use planning and development in the vicinity of transmission pipeline facilities and operations. It will largely focus on the establishment of clear roles and responsibilities for municipalities, developers, and pipelines operators in the planning process to improve access to information and understanding of land use planning issues.

CSA standards are commonly used across Canada to set benchmark business practices that address issues such as quality, safety, sustainability, and consistency. Once published, they are available for businesses, governments, and other organizations to adopt voluntarily.
