ABOUT THE POSITION
The Town of Fox Creek is seeking an enthusiastic Equipment Operator II to keep our town running smoothly and looking great! From operating heavy-duty equipment and maintaining roadways to tackling hands-on repairs and keeping our infrastructure in top shape, this role offers variety, teamwork, and the satisfaction of seeing your work make an impact. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
May be required to adhere to processes and policies in support of Municipal goals and legislative requirements.
- Adhering to processes and policies that support municipal goals and comply with legislative requirements.
- Operating and maintaining equipment for street maintenance, utilities, and other public works functions.
- Performing regular checks, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment to keep operations efficient.
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on town infrastructure, ensuring safe and functional spaces for the community.
- Taking a regular shift in the “on-call” rotation to respond to urgent needs.
- Adjusting your work schedule to meet operational requirements as needed.
- Communicating effectively with the public, supervisors, and coworkers to maintain smooth operations.
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Must:
- A Grade 12 diploma or GED certificate.
- A valid Class 1 Driver’s License with Q (Airbrake) endorsement.
- An acceptable Criminal Record Check.
- An acceptable Driver’s Abstract Report.
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the public, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Experience operating a variety of equipment, including heavy-duty trucks, skid steers, backhoes, snow blowers, and more.
- The ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain discretion with confidential matters.
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- The ability to work in environments with moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Considered an asset:
- To have a minimum of 5 years practical experience
- To have a general mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure maintenance and repair.

- Permanent Full Time 40 hours/week
- Flexible scheduling based on operational requirements
- Evenings and weekends when necessary.
WHAT WILL YOU BE PAID?
- $ 44.09/hour to $57.53/hour
- Placement within this range will depend on experience
