EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL & BUSINESS SERVICES

We have an incredible opportunity for an Executive Director, Financial & Business Services to drive financial excellence and operational innovation in a dynamic, forward-thinking municipality. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Executive Director, Financial & Business Services will provide strategic leadership and oversight across four departments: Assessment Services, Asset Management, Customer Care & Support and Financial Services. This is a municipality that is poised for economic growth.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a strategic thinker with expertise in fiscal strategy and policy development, skilled in aligning financial sequencing with debt ratios and reserves. Experience working for a County and collaborating with elected officials and Council is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Executive Director, Financial & Business Services, you’ll leverage your senior leadership experience and municipal expertise to:

  • Drive Strategic Vision and Leadership: Lead the Financial Services Division to achieve Rocky View County’s long-term goals, fostering an innovative and responsive approach to public service.

  • Collaborate and Engage Stakeholders: Build and sustain strong inter-municipal and community relationships, acting as a liaison and advocate for the County’s strategic vision and goals.

  • Promote Operational Excellence: Oversee all financial and administrative functions within the division, promoting efficiency and high service quality to enhance community trust and satisfaction.

  • Ensure Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainability: Manage all financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with both short and long-term objectives to support the County’s fiscal health and growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) and 10+ years of senior leadership experience, ideally in municipal or government administration.

  • Background in Finance (preferred), with certifications in Local Government Management or Administration.

  • Proven expertise in budget management, financial planning, and policy development.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels.

  • A proactive leader capable of prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
