AUMA Employee Benefit Services providing premium credits during COVID-19 pandemic
We recognize the difficult circumstances facing many of our Employee Benefits members during the pandemic. We are pleased to announce some steps we are taking to help our members by providing credits to offset benefit premium costs.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, our benefits program has experienced reduced usage of dental benefits and some extended health care (EHC) benefits. As a result, we are able to provide Employee Benefits subscribers with the following premium credits:
- 50% credit against dental premiums paid. Many routine dental visits have stopped during the pandemic, so we are providing a 50% dental premium credit per month.
- 10% credit against non-drug-related EHC premiums paid. Prescription drug usage has not declined during the pandemic. However, while plan members are using an increased volume of virtual care across their paramedical providers, there has been a reduction in other claims activity. To reflect this, we are providing a 20% premium credit on the non-drug coverage portion of each client’s EHC benefits. This is equivalent to 10% of the overall EHC premium.
Please email benefits [at] auma.ca (benefits[at]auma[dot]ca) if you have any questions about your plan’s credits.
