Elections Alberta, Municipal Affairs announce Elections Training
In partnership with Elections Alberta, Municipal Affairs is pleased to offer election training to local authorities through a series of live webinars. This training will comprise ten modules that follow the Local Authorities Election Act. Resources and information that coincide with the stages of the election cycle will accompany each module. At the conclusion of all ten modules, local authorities will have a complete guide for municipal Returning Officers to support the successful completion of the 2021 general election.
The modules will be offered in stages, commencing with modules 1 & 2 in November. These first two modules will focus primarily on pre-election activities, considerations for election planning, and the nomination period. These sessions will also provide information on a potential senate nominee election and referendum questions held in conjunction with the 2021 general election.
Two sessions of each module will be offered via live webinar (details below). Given the volume of attendees, we ask that you attend only one session of each module.
1. Module 1: Election Considerations
a) Thursday, November 5, 2020 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. OR
b) Monday, November 9, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
2. Module 2: Nominations
a) Thursday, November 19, 2020 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. OR
b) Tuesday, November 24, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
