FCM releases municipal guide to cannabis legalization

Following months of collaboration with a technical advisory group and legal experts, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), in partnership with AUMA and provincial and territorial counterparts from across Canada, have launched the Municipal Guide to Cannabis Legalization. This guide is designed to provide an overview of the work ahead for local governments and offer both policy and regulatory options to choose from.

AUMA is also working with Reynolds Mirth Richards and Farmer LLP to develop a legal toolkit for municipalities to help with legalization. This toolkit will be available to AUMA members on May 22, 2018.
