Federal government report shows funding municipalities improves lives of Canadians

The Parliamentary Budget Officer has released a report on the infrastructure investments in provinces and municipalities, and the report affirms that the lives of Canadians are improved when all orders of governments work together. The results are real and immediate.

Currently, Alberta municipalities cannot access the full federal Investing in Canada Infrastructure Plan because the provincial budget is underfunded, which limits the amount of federal funding municipalities can access.

We need the provincial government to be a partner.

The provincial election is on April 16, 2019. It’s important that we make it clear to all candidates that long-term infrastructure investment delivered with municipal expertise is critical to building stronger communities for Albertans.
