International Economic Development Week 2025

Alberta Municipalities and Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) are working together to help amplify the important work that economic developers do to bolster municipalities and help Alberta's communities thrive. 

We invite you to officially proclaim May 12 to 16 as Economic Development Week. Your community can do so by following these steps:

• Step 1: Customize the 2025 Sample Resolution.
• Step 2: Have your council/mayor officially proclaim the week in your community and sign the resolution.
• Step 3: Share the proclamation with local media, and on your social media pages, and tag us!
• Step 4: Send an admin [at] edaalberta.ca (email) to EDA to have your proclamation added to the EDA website.

This year’s theme is “The Power of Partnerships” – the collaborations that drive innovation, growth, and lasting change in communities.

We encourage your community to:

• Bring an EDA Institute economic development course to your community.
• Proclaim Economic Development Week.
• Organize a special event to profile your economic development activities.
