Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program Update

Municipalities across Alberta have been eagerly awaiting more information about the status of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) applications. Alberta Infrastructure has reported that they have received over 600 expressions of interest since the program launched in April 2018. To be considered as part of the Budget 2020 process, applications will close on July 31, 2019, for:

• Green Infrastructure;
• Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure; and
• Rural and Northern Communities Infrastructure.

Those applying under the transit stream are not impacted. This will be the last chance to submit applications or send any updates to existing applications. Please note that any tenders awarded, contract signed, or cost incurred before federal approval are ineligible through ICIP. Alberta Infrastructure has indicated another intake period should launch in spring 2020.
