Join virtual meeting on June 18 to vote on keeping elections local

AUMA is holding a virtual session at 1 p.m., June 18 to vote on keeping local elections local. The Request for Decision, sponsored by the City of Grande Prairie, aims to prevent Senate elections and provincial referendums from being held during local elections.

Elected officials from regular member municipalities are encouraged to register by noon, June 15 to vote.

The session will also feature an update on the Local Authorities Election Act. All municipal officials are welcome to attend to discuss advocacy on potential changes to the Act, which could be introduced in this sitting of the Legislature.
