Opportunity to serve on LAPP Corporate Board
Last week, we sent an e-mail notice to the Elected Officials and CAOs of those municipalities participating in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) advising of an opportunity to serve on the LAPP Corporate Board. AUMA is seeking an individual from LAPP-participating municipalities to represent AUMA/Municipal employers on the board.
Background – LAPP Corporate Board
The LAPP Corporation is responsible for overseeing the work of service providers for the Pension Plan to ensure the delivery of pension benefits and the long-term sustainability of the Plan. It is the administrator and trustee of the Plan.
The Corporate Board is responsible for the administration of the pension benefit and to ensure that pensions are paid to members.
To be eligible to be appointed as a member of the LAPP Corporation Board of Directors, an individual must be at least 18 years of age and have extensive knowledge of defined benefit pension plans.
The individual must complete the following documents:
- Director Consent to Act Form
- Completed Conflict of Interest Declaration Form
- Brief biography of the nominee
If you are interested in serving on the LAPP Corporate Board, please complete the attached documents and forward back by August 31, 2021 directly to rbruno [at] auma.ca (rbruno[at]auma[dot]ca).
Eligible nominees will be brought forward to the AUMA Board for ratification. Upon ratification, an appointment letter will be sent to the successful individual and communicated to the LAPP Board.
