Presentations available - Transforming Alberta’s Environmental Regulatory System
AUMA hosted a webinar with Alberta Environment and Parks (AEP) on transforming Alberta’s Environmental Regulatory System in late January 2021. We are very grateful AEP officials shared their plan with municipalities.
The presentations are now available:
- January 25 AUMA Environment and Parks Regulatory System Transformation Presentation
- Environment and Parks Regulatory Transformation Program at Glance Fall 2020
- Environment and Parks Fall 2020 Backlog Pilot Highlight
Ministry officials are seeking additional feedback from municipalities:
- What information do you need from AEP to help address your constituents’ questions related to the environmental regulatory system?
- What components of the environmental regulatory system do you interact with the most?
- Where do we need to ensure municipal participation in development of our transformed system?
Please email your feedback to advocacy [at] auma.ca (advocacy[at]auma[dot]ca) by February 24, 2021.
During the webinar, AUMA Board member Councillor Peter Demong also mentioned two examples of AUMA’s streamlining government initiatives:
- AUMA’s Red Tape Submission to the Alberta government
- Alberta Collaborative Extended Producer Responsibility Study (ACES)
AUMA will be providing further updates on the ministry’s regulatory transformation work throughout 2021.
