Reminder – Submit resolutions by May 31

As a member-driven association, resolutions are your opportunity to give ABmunis direction on what actions you want us to take on your behalf. This is a friendly reminder to our members that May 31 is the last day to submit a resolution that will be voted on by members at our 2024 Convention in September.

Approval requirements

You need to have approval from both the moving and seconding councils by May 31. Since there is limited time remaining, note that ABmunis does not require your council to approve the exact wording of the resolution. Instead, you can have your council approve the intent of the resolution and have your administration develop and submit the supporting information by May 31.

Movers & seconders

Under our new resolutions policy, the seconder of your resolution must be of a different population category:

• If your municipality is over 10,000 population, then the seconder must have a population less than 10,000.
• If your municipality’s population is between 2,500 and 10,000, then your seconding municipality must have a population less than 2,500 or greater than 10,000.
• If your municipality’s population is less than 2,500, the seconder must have a population greater than 2,500.
