New Minister of Municipals Affairs as Premier Kenny shuffles Cabinet

On August 25, Premier Kenney made a small, but important adjustment to the provincial Cabinet, including Tracy Allard replacing Kaycee Madu as Minister of Municipal Affairs.

First elected in April, 2019, Honourable Allard is the only new addition to Cabinet. An entrepreneur, she represents the constituency of Grande Prairie in the legislature.

AUMA looks forward to working with the new Minister and expect she will be able to address our Convention next month.

On August 26, Salma Lakhani was installed as Alberta’s 19th Lieutenant Governor, replacing Lois Mitchell.

At 10:00am on August 27, President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance Travis Toews presented the first quarter fiscal update. The update showed a drastic deterioration in the province’s financial situation. Following the presentation, there was a special session of the legislature to debate the report.

The Legislature is scheduled to resume regular sittings on October 26.
