Update from the Legislature - Feb 17

The Legislature resumes sitting next Thursday, with the provincial budget set to be tabled that afternoon. AUMA will be hosting a member-only webinar the day after the budget is released to review the numbers, share our opinions and provide you with the opportunity to ask questions.

It is widely anticipated that the legislative priority for this spring will be the implementation of the remaining platform commitments that the government campaigned on in the 2019 election. In the days leading up to session, the province has been making several “good news” announcements, including funding for orphan well reclamation, consultations on coal development, and a wage top-up for workers on the front lines dealing with COVID-19.
