Update from the Legislature - July 7

Alberta entered the third and final stage of the province’s  “Open for Summer Plan” on July 1, which was marked by the lifting of nearly all COVID-19 related public health restrictions. While the vast majority of all provincial restrictions have been lifted, mandatory isolation and quarantine rules remain in place, and masks must be worn in hospitals, continuing care facilities, mass transit vehicles, ride share vehicles, and taxis. A general guidance document is available to help make the transition to Stage 3 as smooth and easy as possible.

The provincial government released the annual report for the last fiscal year. The report presents a deficit of $17 billion on revenues of $43.1 billion and spending of $60.1 billion.
