Update from the Legislature - Oct 21

Fall session begins

On October 20, the Legislature began its fall sitting, which is expected to run until December 3. We anticipate that government will pursue a heavy legislative agenda, with more than 20 government bills being introduced and presumably passed.

On October 14, the government launched the formal budget consultation process. The online survey is available until December 4, and telephone town halls will take place on November 30, December 2, and December 3. Alberta’s government will also be launching a digital ‘build a budget’ tool in mid-November that will ask Albertans to make choices about spending and revenue and then show the resulting impacts on the overall budget.
