Updated Municipal Census Manual released
The technical updates for the municipal census manual have been approved and can be used for the 2019 census year. Key updates include:
- standardizing terms and definitions in the manual;
- data collection for enumeration with Statistics Canada by including telephone interviews and mail-out surveys as accepted methodologies;
- revising quality assurance standards for consistency with the federal census; and
- creating new forms to assist with data collection.
A copy of the 2019 Municipal Census Manual and the “What We Heard” document can be found on the Municipal Affairs website.
