Webinar: creating a municipal business case for investing in equity, diversity, and inclusion
In recent years, movements such as Black Lives Matter and societal shifts in understanding of gender equity have pushed municipal governments to consider their role in supporting anti-racism and anti-discrimination. When these conversations arise, municipal administrations are often tasked with presenting a business case that outlines why and how the municipality should invest municipal resources in equity, diversity, and inclusion work.
AUMA’s Welcoming and Inclusive Communities initiative is pleased to host a webinar on how to develop an effective business case to make equity, diversity, and inclusion work a mainstay component of your municipality’s operations. The webinar will feature insights on:
- how to open the door for meaningful conversation on equity, diversity, and inclusion;
- making the case for municipal action;
- examples of how inclusion will apply across municipal business units; and
- key components of an effective business case.
The webinar will draw on the approach and experiences of inclusion leaders with the cities of Fort Saskatchewan and Spruce Grove. Both municipalities have recently taken broad steps to integrate inclusion work as part of their overall corporate plan.
