Priority Initiative 1.4 under Goal 1 of the Municipal Affairs Business Plan 2011 – 14 states that a staged comprehensive review of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) is to take place. It is anticipated that the act will be analyzed in three two-year stages, with one stage designated specifically for property assessment and taxation.
The ministry appreciates the AUMA’s continued interest and contributions to Alberta’s property assessment and taxation system. All stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide their valuable input into this review once it begins.
AUMA considers this response.
