Beware of Companies Selling Event Lists

Fraud awareness has become a hot topic for anyone that has an online presence, and municipalities are targets for would-be scammers. In recent months, Alberta Municipalities has been made aware of emails to members from companies claiming to have promotional offers, such as delegate lists from our annual Convention and Trade Show. 

These companies are not associated with Alberta Municipalities, nor authorized by us to contact our members. We advise that any emails like these be reported to your IT department. 

Alberta Municipalities does not, and will not, sell registrant lists to external companies. During the registration process, attendees are asked if they would like to opt-in to a list that will be provided to registered trade show exhibitors following the event, but that list is only distributed to approved vendors and never sold for financial gain.
