Constructive meeting with Deputy Minister Stewart

Alberta Municipalities’ Executive Committee met with Bryce Stewart, Deputy Minister (DM) of Transportation and Economic Corridors, on October 12.

The engaging and wide-ranging conversation focused on shared priorities, including approval processes and delays, water and wastewater infrastructure and rural transportation challenges. Executive Committee also emphasized the need for provincial action on ABmunis’ 2023 Convention resolution that calls for the starting base amount of the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF) to be increased to $1.75 billion.

We thank DM Stewart for meeting with ABmunis’ Executive Committee and for his willingness to engage on these important issues. We look forward to continuing to build a strong working relationship with the ministry.
