New asset management training offered
Alberta Municipalities, Rural Municipalities of Alberta, and Infrastructure Asset Management Alberta (IAMA) are excited to announce our next asset management training opportunity – Small Group Learning Communities. It allows participants to collaborate on real issues that municipalities face as they integrate asset management into their operations.
Participants will select one of the following topics:
- Asset Management Has No Dumb Questions: An opportunity for beginners to learn from one another by be being both student and teacher of asset management concepts.
- Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: In these workshops you will develop knowledge and skills for collaboration within administration, with council and the community through group exercises and storytelling.
- The Software Debate: What software do you need to succeed in asset management? - A forum for communities to share their knowledge, experiences, and learnings with choosing and implementing software.
These activities will be incorporated into IAMA’s regular workshop schedule (February, June and October 2023), so participants would spend one day in their Small Group Learning Community working on their chosen topic with peers and guided by a facilitator. The following day, participants would have a chance to participate in an IAMA professional development workshop. The Small Group Learning Community would be available at no cost outside of travel/accommodations.
IAMA has a number of pricing options available for participants who want to make the most out of this opportunity and register for the workshops as well. Registration for the Small Group Learning Communities can be found here.
