Update from the Legislature – April 2, 2025

The Legislature is on a constituency break this week, with session scheduled to resume on Monday, April 7. Bill 50, the Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment Act, was placed on the Order Paper last week and is expected to be introduced next week when the Legislature resumes sitting.

As noted at Spring Municipal Leaders' Caucus in March, Alberta Municipalities anticipates that Bill 50 will include amendments to provisions for intermunicipal collaboration frameworks and to codes of conduct. We will review the legislation once it is released and share our analysis with members.
