Update from the Legislature – December 13, 2023
The First session of the 31st Legislature adjourned last week. All nine proposed government bills were passed by the Assembly. The legislative calendar for 2024 will be set in mid-January.

National Urban Parks
Private Members’ Bill 204, the Municipal Government (National Urban Parks) Amendment Act 2023, sponsored by Leduc-Beaumont MLA Brandon Lunty will amend the Municipal Government Act to prohibit a municipality from negotiating a proposed national urban park plan with the Government of Canada without prior approval from the process. The legislation is currently at second reading and will be up for further consideration during the spring session.
