Update from the Legislature – May 29, 2024
The Legislature is sitting this week, with spring session scheduled to conclude by Thursday, May 30.
The Minister of Municipal Affairs introduced amendments to Bill 20, the Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment Act, on May 23. The amendments place criteria on Cabinet’s ability to remove councillors and amend or repeal specific bylaws. The amendments do not address any other of ABmunis’ concerns with the legislation, which can be found in the preliminary analysis document on our website.
