ABmunis Board advocates for members to Min. Schulz
Alberta Municipalities’ Board of Directors invited Minister of Municipal Affairs Rebecca Schulz to join our board meeting on January 26, 2023.
The Board had a wide-ranging discussion with Minister Schulz. Among the topics discussed:
- Municipal funding and the upcoming transition to the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF)
- Downloading of costs from the provincial government to municipalities
- Strengthening Intermunicipal Collaboration mechanisms
- The Sovereignty Act and the upcoming provincial budget.
We appreciate Minister Schulz’s willingness to engage with ABmunis’ Board of Directors and we look forward to continuing to build a strong working relationship with her. We also look forward to hearing Minister Schulz’s remarks at our upcoming Spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus.
