Apply to be part of Alberta Local Food Council
In January 2018, AUMA participated in the Government of Alberta’s Local food consultation. Subsequently, on May 30, 2018, the Supporting Alberta’s Local Food Sector Act was passed by the government. One of the provisions of this Act was the establishment of a Local Food Council to provide a report and recommendations to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry on provincial policies, programs, pilot projects or initiatives to support the continued growth and sustainability of Alberta’s local food sector. A public recruitment process for members of the Council is open to stakeholders with an interest in or knowledge of the local food sector.
Applications for members of the Council are being accepted until July 12, 2018.
