AUMA Board appoints new CEO
After serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer since August 24, 2017, the AUMA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dan Rude has accepted the permanent appointment as Chief Executive Officer, effective May 24, 2018.
“We were impressed with the calibre of candidates from which to choose for this very important role with the AUMA,” said Barry Morishita, AUMA President. “We are always pleased when we can fill a position internally, and we appreciated Dan putting his name forward for consideration. Dan has a long history with the AUMA, and we were impressed with the leadership he has demonstrated over the past few months in particular.”
While Dan’s past experience with the AUMA was an important factor in the decision-making process, more important was the role the CEO would play in future of the organization.
“Just as our member municipalities must grow and adapt, so must the AUMA. We are very confident in Dan’s ability to advance the Board’s vision for the future of the AUMA and how we can best serve our members,” continued Morishita. “The Board looks forward to working with Dan and building on our history of success in bringing innovation into our advocacy efforts, and providing new and improved business services to our members.”
Prior to accepting the role, Dan held the position of Chief Financial Officer, including administration of AUMA’s Audit and Finance Committee and Investment Advisory Committee, and managing corporate services, business analytics, information technology management, corporate governance, and corporate project management functions. Dan has over 30 years’ experience in various financial roles and organizations, including over 14 years with the AUMA.
