Complete your LGFF Survey by June 13

Alberta Municipal Affairs emailed a survey to all municipalities on May 16 seeking input on the design of the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF). The ministry wants to know your thoughts on the rules that should be in place for the LGFF Capital program – things like project eligibility, application processes, reporting processes, timing of payments, and other factors.

We encourage members to complete this survey between now and June 13, 2022. Each municipality is asked to submit a single response. The survey link can be found in the emails sent from Municipal Affairs to your chief administrative officer on May 16 or May 31. You can also send Municipal Affairs an ma.geptbranch [at] gov.ab.ca (email) requesting assistance.

Alberta Municipalities is also providing input on LGFF design through a working group with Municipal Affairs and the Rural Municipalities of Alberta. You can tell us what you would like to see in the LGFF program rules by sending the Advocacy team an advocacy [at] abmunis.ca (email). Alternatively, you can provide input at one of our Summer Municipal Leaders’ Caucus events that will be held in various locations across Alberta on June 15, 16, 21 and 22.
