FCM wants to hear your approach to climate adaptation

FCM is asking municipalities to share their approach to climate change adaptation by completing their National Municipal Adaptation Survey. 

The survey should be completed by one employee at your municipality who works on climate change or environmental issues. It takes 10-25 minutes complete. All responses are confidential and the data will be aggregated, so nothing you report will be directly attributable to your municipality.

• Survey results will be used to create resources and training materials that you can use to help your community adapt to climate change such as flooding or extreme weather.
• Feedback will help inform the design and delivery of local climate adaptation funding and programming in Canada, which could benefit your municipality in the future.
• Survey findings will be available for free online, published through peer-reviewed venues, and presented at relevant conferences and workshops.​

Deadline to complete the National Municipal Adaptation Survey is March 22, 2018.

Looking for information on how your municipality can address climate change?

Through the Climate Resilience Express initiative, the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) and All One Sky Foundation provide support and resources to help Alberta municipalities plan for and manage the local impacts of climate change. The goal of Climate Resilience Express is to facilitate a streamlined ("express") process for developing a climate resilience action plan for small communities through a one-day workshop.

MCCAC is a partnership between AUMA, AAMDC and the Government of Alberta that provides funding, technical assistance, and education to support Alberta municipalities in addressing climate change.
