GoA Survey: Land Management & Outdoor Recreation
The Government of Alberta has released its vision for provincial Crown land management. One component of achieving this vision is improving how recreation is managed on provincial Crown land, which includes public lands, parks and protected areas.
Alberta’s recreational users have indicated that in order to sustain recreation experiences, more needs to be done to manage recreation areas, including random camping and trails, and to enforce rules to ensure future generations can also enjoy recreation experiences afforded by our natural heritage.
Alberta Environment and Parks has asked AUMA to pass along its request for your input. They are seeking input on ways to enhance recreation experiences for Albertans in a way that is sustainably funded and enables partnerships.
An online public survey is now available until January 15, 2021, allowing to share feedback on how outdoor recreation in Alberta can be improved and better managed. We encourage members to complete the survey.
If you have a request to meet with Environment and Parks staff or have any questions regarding this proposal and engagement, please email outdoorrecreation [at] gov.ab.ca (OutdoorRecreation[at]gov[dot]ab[dot]ca).
