Help shape ABmunis’ water policies

Alberta Municipalities is excited to start a new engagement process on water policies with you – our members.

For many local governments, water and wastewater infrastructure are the two most important assets in their communities. Access to clean and affordable drinking water, adequate wastewater treatment facilities, and funding to upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure are essential to the continued success and well-being of our member-communities.

You have told us that our existing water policies need to be updated. It’s true; Alberta Municipalities’ current water policies were developed between 2012 to 2014. You also said you want to reposition and evaluate our water advocacy as an association. Furthermore, our current advocacy may not adequately address climate change. 

We have developed a survey to determine which principles we should focus our future water advocacy on. The survey can be found here and will remain open until August 31. Your input and feedback are greatly appreciated.
