Improvements made to 'Stop Housing Delays' portal 

The Government of Alberta introduced its 'Stop Housing Delays' web portal on Nov. 13. The portal gives stakeholders a way to report issues that may be causing delays in the building of new housing in communities across Alberta.

Alberta Municipalities voiced concerns soon afterwards, noting that the portal was not designed to receive input from all stakeholders. We offered potential solutions to the Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services.

We are pleased to report that the provincial government responded to our feedback. The 'Stop Housing Delays' portal has been updated to serve the needs of businesses and municipal governments of all sizes.

We will continue to press the Government of Alberta to be transparent with the data it collects through this web portal. We will also continue working with municipalities to make improvements to existing planning and regulatory processes.
