Input needed: ABmunis’ proposal for allocation of the LGFF
The Government of Alberta intends to finalize the design of the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF) this year.
At our Spring 2022 Municipal Leaders’ Caucus in March, Alberta Municipalities presented a proposal for the principles, goals, and formula variables that could be used for the allocation of LGFF for the non-charter municipalities. We received positive feedback from those in attendance, but some attendees also expressed a need for additional time to review.
To help further the conversation, Alberta Municipalities is pleased to host a virtual engagement with members to:
- Present an overview of our proposal for LGFF allocation.
- Answer questions and seek input from members on the proposal.
- Where possible, share updates based on our discussions with Alberta Municipal Affairs and the Rural Municipalities of Alberta on the process that will be used to finalize the design of LGFF.
The virtual engagement will be held on May 17, 2022, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Register here.
Note: This event is only available to regular members of Alberta Municipalities. To register, you must be an elected or administrative representative of a city, town, village, summer village, or specialized municipality in Alberta.
