Just three weeks left to submit resolutions...
The deadline to submit a resolution for consideration at Alberta Municipalities' Convention in late September is Wednesday, May 31.
Instructions and information on how to draft and submit a resolution is available on ABmunis' Resolutions web page.
Please share draft resolutions in advance of the deadline with resolutions [at] abmunis.ca. ABmunis' administration will review each resolution as it is submitted and advise if it:
- Could trigger any of the criteria set out in Section 28 of ABmunis' Resolutions Policy
- Addresses a topic covered by an already active resolution found in ABmunis' Resolutions Library
- Contradicts existing ABmunis policy
- Poses potential risks for Alberta Municipalities or any of the association’s members because of publishing, debating, and/or the voting results
- Should be combined with a similar resolution being moved by another municipality
- Has additional deficiencies (e.g., unclear, contradictory, incorrect, or misleading statements; lack background information; and incorrect formatting).
