Provincial Budget Advocacy

With the provincial budget set to be released on February 28th, President Cathy Heron met with President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance Travis Toews to discuss ABmunis' budget priorities:
•    That funding be stable and predictable
•    That municipalities be considered in the province’s economic growth
•    That the province avoid transferring costs and responsibilities onto municipalities  

The constructive meeting included discussion on loans to local authorities, education property taxes, and changes to the starting amount and growth factor of the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF).
