RCMP modernization: Regional Police & Crisis Teams

Most members of Alberta Municipalities receive policing services from the Alberta RCMP. As the RCMP approaches its 150th anniversary in 2023, its goal is to be the modern, inclusive, and healthy organization that employees and Canadians expect it to be.

Municipalities and other stakeholders can learn more about the Alberta RCMP’s modernization efforts through their YouTube channel. For example, the Alberta RCMP is launching Regional Police and Crisis Teams (RPACTs) across Alberta. These teams consist of Alberta Health Services mental health professionals and Alberta RCMP officers, who will intervene, assess, de-escalate, refer, and follow-up with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
