Update from the Legislature - July 29
Legislature set to rise for the summer
The legislature is set to rise for the summer this week, having passed 34 government bills in this legislative sitting. As of Tuesday, July 28, 32 of the 34 pieces of government legislation had passed, with only the controversial Bills 30 and 32 yet to make it through third reading.
The legislature is scheduled to commence its fall sitting on October 26. However, we anticipate that , it will be reconvened for a special two-day session in late August for the installation of Salma Lakhani as Alberta’s 19th Lieutenant Governor and for the presentation of the fiscal update by the Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board.
