Update: expiring Axia contract
UPDATE: June 29, 2018: Government confirms SuperNet service continuity
UPDATED: June 28, 2018: AUMA has reached out to Service Alberta in advance of Axia’s contract expiring to help gain clarity of what will be happening for those municipalities who are serviced by the SuperNet and Axia SuperNet Ltd.
Service Alberta has confirmed that a new contract is being signed and that the government is committed to ensuring any risk of service disruption is mitigated. Service Alberta also notes "continuity of service is priority #1 for the province and a plan is in place to ensure service on or after July 1, 2018."
AUMA’s Small Communities Committee will be hearing from the SuperNet Secretariat in July and we will share with our members any further information we receive.
